Description:
The lowest rank in the Brotherhood’s hierarchy, recruited from the non-experienced militant and revolutionary forces worldwide.

Expectations:
Initiates are expected to undergo the initial training. By showing that they are capable of following orders and learning how to be effective they will become contributing members of the mainstream Nod forces.

Responsibilities and permissions:
  • Must receive induction training as soon as possible.

Description:
A step up from being a recruit, it showcases that this person has been around for a while and knows what they are doing to a certain extent. They are meant to carry out orders to the best of their ability.

Expectations:
Privates are simply expected to follow and act on orders given by superiors.

Permissions:
  • Basic private, seen as the backbone of the main fighting force
  • First step of the Brotherhood’s hierarchical ladder.

Description:
Privates are generally promoted to this level shortly after serving for a significant amount of time. As prior ranks, they are meant to follow orders to the best of their abilities.

Expectations:
Like Privates, Privates First Class are expected to follow orders and further hone their skills as a soldier to the best of their ability.

Permissions:
  • A step up from Private. This soldier has shown prowess on the field or in general. They still hold no authority or power.
  • May request permission from Cpl+ to train Initiates.

Description:

Praetors are senior enlisted personnel within the Brotherhood’s mainstream forces. They are seen as the veteran members of the main fighting force and as such are given extended permissions.

Expectations:
Praetors who wish to become Corporals, are expected to show that they understand what leadership is, as well as being able to demonstrate their leadership capabilities during training or operations either on base or the field.

Permissions:
  • Allowed to take over a team, if the team actual has been wounded or killed in action and you are the second-in-command. If due to circumstances you end up being the highest rank alive within the squad you are to RTB
  • Able to lead trial fireteam under close supervision of a Sgt+
  • Permission to lead two man expedition teams out into the field with permission of a Sergeant
  • Able to train recruits without permission
  • Authorized to organize quick-reaction response teams in times of crisis

Description:

A Corporal is the first full NCO rank, from this rank on leadership responsibilities will be given to you. They will be little in the beginning as most of the time you will be picked to only lead a handful of men.

Expectations:
Corporals are expected to demonstrate full leadership capabilities while under the command of their superiors. They are to follow orders and execute them in a fashion that is both effective and completes the objective in the best way possible.

Permissions:
  • Permission to command a fireteam (1 fireteam/4-5 man group)
  • Permission to lead two man expedition teams out into the field
  • Able to issue mass training to Junior Enlisted personnel

Sergeant (Sgt. John Doe) | OR-5
Description:
The Sergeant will often be put in charge of a squad to perform the tasks given upon him by the Platoon Commander. Together with their subordinates, Sergeants are expected to carry out their objectives to the maximum. Off of the field, they are expected to oversee the daily tasks of their subordinates, keeping their physical and mental appearance in shape.

Expectations:
A Sergeant is expected to be near perfect in leading squads, two fireteams put under command of two Corporals and therefore expediting your orders to the Corporals beneath you to efficiently utilize all the men in your squad. Off the field you are still seen as an example, just like any other rank so your behavior must be exemplary. Besides that, you are expected to take younger soldiers under your wings, take care of them, watch after them, monitor and row them into the right direction. All that will be a must for a Sergeant.

  • Permission to command a fireteam (1 fireteam/4-5 man group)
  • Permission to command a squad (2 fireteams/ 8 man group)
  • Permission to lead two man expedition teams out into the field

Description:
A Senior Sergeant is the equivalent to a Staff Sergeant. They will look into evaluating the NCOs below them on their overall performance and assisting or mentoring them where needed. Furthermore, Senior Sergeants can function as an auxiliary Platoon Sergeant if a Master Sergeant or higher appropriate rank is not available to fill the gap.

Expectations:
As stated above, from now on you’ll be expected to be putting yourself into the managing part of leadership. You will be expected to take note of the performance of your subordinates and evaluate said subordinates. On the field you will most likely still be leading squads but as your entree in the higher staffed ranks also means you will also definitely take care of staff managing tasks.

Description:

A Master Sergeant is often picked as a primary Platoon Sergeant, meaning that they work together closely with the Platoon Commander and assists them with overseeing general management of the troops. Training the subordinates below him is often a task given upon the Master Sergeant.

Expectations:
As stated in the description, the Master Sergeant that is chosen as a Platoon Sergeant is expected to assist the Platoon Commander in general management of their troops, handling discipline, handling training of both Enlisted and NCOs and working closely with the Platoon Commander to achieve the objectives given to them. The Platoon Sergeant will be imbued with absolute authority over any and every soldier within the platoon by the CO.

Description:

The introduction rank of the Senior Non-Commissioned Officers - the Abbot is expected to keep the NCOs and Enlisted in shape, and act as a bridge between upper command staff and the Enlisted. Trusted enough to put capable men and women into positions of increased responsibility and efficiency.

Expectations:
Command teams, be competent, show good leadership, recommend good men, promote competent enlisted, act as the connection between the main force and command.

Prefect (Pft. John Doe) | OR-9


Description:

The Prefect serves as the Company Sergeant. They are the most senior Non-Commissioned Officer and give their advice, recommendations and aid to the CO. They often look over the general discipline over all enlisted below them. The Prefect is the direct right hand of the Commissioned Officers and acts as a field representative for them.

Expectations:
As a Prefect, you are expected to work more towards Company level, so stepping up from the Platoon level as Platoon Sergeant into assisting in managing all platoons and therefore assisting and working closely with the COs to establish achievements within their objectives given to the Company. Management of all units, discipline and on-field assistance in leadership are all tasks for the Prefect and are expected to be taken care of perfectly.
As a representative of the Commissioned Officers, the Prefect is expected to uphold the highest behavior and integrity as well as ensure smooth running of all operations, along with listening to any concerns of the soldiers and either reporting them to the COs or solving them themselves.

Permissions:
  • Able to issue mass training to all SNCOs, NCOs, JNCOs and Junior Enlisted personnel
  • Able to submit honorable mentions (promotion/medal recommendation)
  • Permission to command a fireteam (1 fireteam/4-5 man group)

Legate (Lgt. John Doe) | OF-1

Description:

A Legate is a fresh recruit from a NOD indoctrination academy or a soldier who has undergone a battlefield promotion. They will often be placed as the leader of a platoon. Completely being in charge of said platoon, having to look over its overall performance, briefing it before objectives after receiving their briefing from the XO and debriefing them. They work closely together with their platoon sergeant to achieve the objectives they’re assigned.

Expectations:
The Legate is expected to manage all soldiers beneath them. As a platoon leader they do this with assistance of their Platoon Sergeant (usually a Master Sergeant/Senior Sergeant). They will focus on NCOs put under their platoon to manage their discipline and training. Depending on which platoon the Legate leads, they will have different responsibilities. A Legate not in charge of any specific platoon will focus on having a well-stocked inventory, organization, logistics, troop evaluation and manpower management within the Company, while a Legate in charge of a rifle platoon will focus more on infantrymen tasks and platoon management/organization

Permissions:
  • Able to hand out field promotions to the rank of Corporal
  • Able to hand out combat awards and decorations
  • Able to lead a Platoon (6 fireteams/24+ man group)
  • Able to authorize establishment of outposts/alternative operating bases
  • Able to hand out demotions to NCOs, JNCOs and Junior Enlisted
  • Able to discharge personnel from the Company with permission from the Senior Legate
  • Able to hand out demotions to JNCOs without permission
  • Able to authorize POW trades

Description:

The Senior Legate commands and controls company-sized units. They receive objectives from Kane himself and together with their XO lead the company into achieving the objectives given.

Expectations:
The Senior Legate is expected to lead their Company with near perfection. As they are given objectives by Nod’s supreme commanders, they are expected to devise a battle-plan and to brief their subordinates into a well-devised plan so the objective may be achieved flawlessly.

Permissions:
  • Able to hand out field promotions to the rank of Legate
  • Able to hand out combat awards and decorations
  • Able to lead a full sized Combat Operation
  • Able to authorize establishment of outposts/alternative operating bases
  • Able to authorize POW trades
  • Able to discharge personnel from the Company
  • Able to hand out demotions to any ranks below
